SCAD seeks an Assistant Director of Fashion Exhibitions to organize and install on and off-campus exhibitions. In this role, you will research the people, places and culture related to fashion exhibitions and write show promos and summaries, label copy, catalog texts, talking points and other professional marketing texts.
The Assistant Director of Fashion Exhibitions will develop and execute community-based and educational programs to complement major exhibitions and present class visits, curatorial talks and tours for the SCAD community, patrons and public.
The position will report directly to the Director of Fashion Exhibitions and have the flexibility to work longer hours during installations and university signature events within a team environment.
He or she will also support museum staff with the development of projects, including administrative and installation support, research and other assistance as needed.
The ideal candidate has a knowledge of fashion history, textile handling and conservation, strong written, verbal and presentation skills and museum experience, preferably in fashion, fine art and design.
Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in an art and design, fashion, history, or visual culture field
